5 Senses!

This week we have been learning about the 5 senses. Can your child remember any of them? Here is a song we have been singing to jog their memory...

Numicon!

We have been getting to know the 'Numicon' shapes at school, they are tiles with holes in - up to 10! They will help us become fantastic mathematicians!

In RRH we did some printing with the shapes. We counted the holes and talked about the colour of the shapes before we printed. Some children made repeating patterns. All of our prints are now proudly up on the wall making our classroom even more colourful!

First school reading book!

Most of the children who had book bags in school yesterday should have received their first reading book! You will notice that the book has only pictures in it, no words. This is to encourage the children to talk about what is happening in the pictures. Please take your children through the book, encouraging them to predict the story.

Please make sure your child looks after their reading book and brings it to school with their yellow reading record every day.

Outdoor fun!

 We have been working hard this afternoon getting our outdoor area clean and tidy ready for more outdoor adventures next week!

First Day!

After a lot of first day nerves and tears (and not just the children) we all thoroughly enjoyed our first day in our new classes. The children found out where their pegs and trays are and began to settle in to their new classroom.
