Suuuuuperman!

In Reception we are starting to think about Superheroes! In RRH we talked about what we'd like our super power to be if we had one. There were lots of suggestions, the most popular were to be able to turn people into ice, and to be able to fly. We danced to the 'Superman' song by Black Lace.

What a Star!

We are really excited in Reception as we are going to be in a show! Reception will be doing a Nativity play in December, towards the end of term. We have been busy learning songs (already!) and are becoming very excited about going on the stage for the first time! If your child has been given a speaking part in the play, it would be really helpful if you could practice the words at home so that they are confident to take part. We can't wait for it all to come together and I'm sure it'll be fantastic.

More information to follow.

Estimation station!

The children in RRH have been busy estimating in our 'estimation station' this week. They have enjoyed guessing how many objects in the jar and seeing who got it right. We have explained that it doesn't matter if your estimate is wrong, as long as it is a sensible guess.

There's a visitor in RRH...

RRH were visited by Izzy Wizzy today! Izzy set the children a challenge - to write a recipe for some 'Creepy Crawly Soup.' (It is her favourite apparently!)

The ingredients for the soup are: chopped up caterpillars, butterfly wings, rats teeth, snail shells, snakes and worms in blood! Yummmmmmy!

So the children got busy writing their recipes for Izzy Wizzy. They decided how many of each ingredient to put in the cauldron.

The children listened for which sounds they needed to write the words, then used a sound mat to help them.

Then it was time to put the ingredients together. Izzy Wizzy helped the children count their ingredients into the pot.

She read through their recipes and made sure each child put the correct amount of creepy crawlies in the cauldron.

Then Izzy Wizzy cooked the soup, it smelled delicious!

Some children were not keen to try the soup - others wanted seconds!

PE Kits

It has been a jam packed first day back at school today. The children did PE this morning, they didn't get changed today as there were some children who haven't brought a PE kit into school yet. All children will be getting changed next Tuesday 12th November for PE so please could you ensure your child has their kit in school.
Thank you,
Miss Holland
